About the teacher
Ruben Habito
Ruben Habito trained in Japan under Yamada Kōun Rōshi, completing formal koan studies in 1988. In 1989 he moved to Dallas to teach at Southern Methodist University's Perkins School of Theology while founding the Maria Kannon Zen Center.
After retiring from his SMU faculty position, he relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he continues to teach through MKZC's monthly online 'Days of Zen' programme and periodic in-person retreats in Dallas.
