Author and speaker known as a 'medical intuitive', working at the intersection of energy medicine, psychology and spirituality.
Caroline Myss is an American author and speaker who became internationally known for her work at the intersection of energy medicine, spirituality and human consciousness. She is often described as a 'medical intuitive': someone who claims to gain insight, through intuitive perception, into the relationship between a person's life history, emotions and physical health.
Her best-known book, Anatomy of the Spirit (1996), combines the Indian chakra system, the Christian sacraments and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life into what she calls the 'Universal Energy System' — a framework linking physical complaints to underlying emotional and spiritual patterns. With Sacred Contracts (2001) she introduced working with personal archetypes as a tool for understanding life choices and recurring patterns.
Myss deliberately blends language from psychology, medicine and several religious traditions, which makes her work accessible to a broad audience not bound to any single tradition. At the same time, her work has drawn criticism from mainstream medicine, which questions the scientific basis of medical intuition as a diagnostic tool.
She teaches workshops and online courses worldwide, often focused on personal development, resilience and what she calls 'archetypal patterns', and continues to publish and teach actively.
