About the teacher
Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda
Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda write and perform mantra music and heart songs from their base in Oregon, working across kirtan, bhajan, and original compositions that blend English, Sanskrit, and Gurbani. Their instrumentation spans guitar, harmonium, keyboard, bansuri flute, and vocal weaving, and they have also developed an experimental electronic fusion of kirtan they call "Kirtronica."
They are especially known for English devotional lyrics infused with Vedic mantras, alongside a strong reputation for their more traditional acoustic kirtan performances.
