Non-duality · Inner Engineering
Yogi and founder of the Isha Foundation, known for the Inner Engineering programme and global environmental campaigns such as Save Soil.
Sadhguru, born Jaggi Vasudev in 1957 in the South Indian city of Mysore, grew from motorcycle enthusiast and entrepreneur into one of today's best-known yoga teachers. After a profound inner experience on a hill near his hometown, he devoted himself fully to yoga and meditation, founding the Isha Foundation in 1992 — today a worldwide organisation with millions of volunteers.
His approach combines classical yogic technique with a blunt, often unpolished way of speaking that made him popular well beyond traditionally spiritual circles. The Inner Engineering programme, originally developed as an introductory course in yoga and meditation, has drawn millions of participants worldwide.
In recent years Sadhguru has positioned himself strongly as an environmental activist. With the Save Soil campaign, he rode a motorcycle through dozens of countries in 2022 to draw attention to soil degradation, an initiative that gained international attention from governments and the United Nations. Earlier projects such as Cauvery Calling, focused on tree-planting along Indian rivers, follow the same line.
Sadhguru has written several bestsellers, including Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy, and remains one of the most visible voices in the modern yoga world through books, talks and a large online platform.
