About the teacher

A quiet, direct path.

Rupert Spira trained for years as a potter before turning fully to teaching, and his background shows in a style that treats ordinary sense experience — colour, sound, texture — as material for investigation rather than something to transcend. He draws on the direct-path teachings associated with Jean Klein and Francis Lucille, presented through careful, patient dialogue rather than assertion.

He continues to lead retreats and a substantial online programme, and maintains an active Substack alongside his recorded talks and books such as Being Aware of Being Aware.
